Legal Affairs: When is the 'N-Word' Not a Racial Slur?
"Fat Nick" Minucci, a 19-year-old white man who beat up a black man while shouting a racial slur, has been charged with a hate crime. But his lawyer claims that Minucci didn't mean the word as a slur, saying its use in rap music and among young people is not derogatory. (Warning: This report contains graphic language that might offend some listeners.)
