* The internet is a crazy yet wonderful thing. I was for some reason looking up Jim Jones (the rapper) and found a more interesting article on Jim Jones (the cult leader) which made reference to Father Divine ( a famous black religious leader and central figure in a play that Kelly and I attended at Center Stage a few months ago). I'm reading the article about his life and it made references to a part of Rockville known as Monkey Run (his home town and now affluent area of Baltimore County) which happens to have a rich African American History. Today, I learned of a lil school house that meant so much to so many in Harford County. Check out this amazing story...... Duff Goldman -- described as "a master cake decorator, rock musician, power tool aficionado" -- stars in " Ace of Cakes," beginning 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, on the Food Network. Goldman is also allegedly a former graffiti artist with degrees in philosophy and physics who paid his dues at places such as The French Laundry in California's Napa Valley. * Every week, he and his team of artists at Charm City Cakes in Baltimore make "mind-blowing" creations, some of which are motorized, such as a rolling replica of a Jeep Wrangler. You lucky viewers are also promised insane deadlines, temper tantrums, aggressive brides and collapsing cakes. * As tasty as that sounds, we strongly advise not letting your children watch, or they will forever be nagging you for a birthday cake on wheels. |
