This was a beautiful weekend in Baltimore. The weather was better than I could have imagined. I didn't make it to any shows......yeah... yeah...Im slippin on my pimpin, but I did make some huge moves. * Over the weekend...I cut my hair some more. I thought I was gonna let it grow out too.... LOL! I think I am obsessed with cutting it. I let my hair grow for 7 years ....only to cut it all off.... WHY WHY WHY???? Well actually, I didn't mean to get my hair cut this short...it was a mistake that I chose to embrace -- DAYZ LATER! I think Im actually getting used to the short do... mmmmmmmmh! One against the grain ...here I come! * I ran into Mully Man at the Patapsco Flea Market. This guy is a natural $ale$man. He would not let folks walk away.... LOL!!! "The CD is $10, but I'll work with you!!!" He was determined to get that sale. He has the 36 inch TV out there showing his videos, interacting with fans...kissing babies....LOL! He's getting this PR thing down to a science and sellin some CDs in the process. FINALLY!!! someone gets it!!! I apologize to him profusely..... that I have not reviewed the CD yet.......but Govt. names ran a lil something today. Al was even nice enough to post a couple links to MP3s....gee, that's nice! Please cop that H.I.M. mix tape. Mully is really proud of this product and if the cover and initial public reaction is any indication....H.I.M. is well on it's way to classic status. * I also ran into Karen aka Ms Red Wine aka Graphic Gyrl in the neighborhood hangout, The I Bar. The I Bar is this cool lil neighborhood bar in Charles Village (Maryland Ave and 22nd St) with cheap drinks and GREAT FOOD [Especially the Blackened Chicken Alfredo...OMFG!!!!]. [I am waaaaaaaay too in love with food] ......I am in love with her ear rings....they were silver leaves that almost touched her shoulders. maaaaaaaaad SEXY!!!! She told me that she got them from the Farmer's Market. Speaking of the Farmer's Market.....now that the Roost is closed....This is the best place to get really tasty fried fish [under the Jones Falls on Sundays]. You have got to go before the summer is over. You still have time.....the FM just re-opened a few weeks ago...I used to go every week. I really need to get back in the swing of things. * Didn't watch much TV or do much web surfing this weekend...........which explains why this post is so late.....I had to really bring my self up to speed. [Not really...but it would be appropriate! LOL!]
"Group members J-Bo, born Jeffrey Grigsby and Sean Paul Joseph, were arrested along with 12 people in their entourage while on I-85 en route to Columbus, Ga. All 14 were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of firearms after police found a half pound of marijuana and two guns hidden throughout their tour bus."
Guess they all are gonna say it was their "personal". Does that work anymore?

* "You can tell a lot about people by what they have on their iPod. Oprah Winfrey recently acknowledged that she's "got a little 50 [Cent] on my iPod. I really do. Love 'In Da Club.'" Give me a break!!! ..........& I love Oprah! Didja you know that DJ Debonair Samir co-produced SPANK ROCK's HUGE International hit " BLOW"? This guy is ALWAYS in the News...which means... BALTIMORE IS ALWAYS IN THE NEWS!!!! Ladies, cop his new album, "Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo". I see Baltimore Club becoming the new craze in gyms across America. * * The details surrounding the death of prominent Baltimore businessman Robet Clay are still very murky. I spoke with Little ["Clayway"] shortly after the news story broke and he told me with conviction that his uncle would never kill himself [commit suicide] as determined by the police. This is a very bizarre story. If you don't know about Robert Clay's place in Baltimore business history...take some time and educate yourself. He was a man that is so very worthy of our respect. The entire Clay family for that matter!!! There is a $50,000 reward for anyone that has details about this case. My prayers continue to go out to Clayway and his dynamic family. May God help you find the REAL answers.
* B'More got MYSPACE goin nutz....scream @ me!!! |
It's cool that Samir's getting shine, but I don't really mess with that Spank Rock shit. A lot of it sounds to me like techno with terrible rapping over it, and a lot of out-of-towners are checking for that stuff thinking that's what real Baltimore club music is, and all those dudes live in Philly anyway. And I mean, look at that cover art, what the fuck. I don't know, I just don't think it's a real great look. But big ups to Samir, I need to hook up with him for an interview soon, actually.
