I totally agree. The fourth branch of the government a.k.a. mainstream media has its marching orders: promote buffoonery and political apathy at all costs. That's why MTV will ban Sister Souljah, but play the Shop Boys all day. It's a part of the plan to control, oppress, and mis-educate the masses. It is beyond ironic that this country has designated June as Black Music Month, but Black people don't own Black Music in these so-called United States of America. According to Ebony Magazine's special report; 70% of music sold worldwide is controlled by 4 white men: Doug Morris (Universal Music Group), Andrew Lack (Sony BMG), Eric Nicoli (EMI), and Edgar Bronfman, Jr. (Warner Music Group). The brown faces that we see on the screen are just puppets in the master's plan. El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X) would call many of them "House Negroes". They put the condition of their oppressor and self-preservation before the condition of the masses of their people. Not only are many of the "artists" puppets, but brown faced music executives are as well. They provide the pipelines that pump poison in the hood. Maybe one day we'll wise up like our brothers and sisters in Nigeria who are getting pimped by white corporations for their oil. They live in squalor while white execs rape their oil-rich land - so what do they do? They attack the oil pipelines and the functionaries of white supremacy that work at the plant. They figure if they are being prevented from benefiting from the oil in their soil, that they will shut down business so that no one can benefit. I wonder what would happen if we disrupted the pipelines of poison that invade our neighborhoods and take to task the functionaries that are cogs in the wheel of white supremacy and populace control. What would happen if we shut down the "music plants" until such time when we stand to benefit handsomely from the business? When will the spirit of the 60's return? When will we refuse the lullaby lies of our oppressor? When will the sleeping giant awake?
