New York, NY, July 9, 2006: This past Saturday marked the end of an era in late night television. In the early hours of July 8th 2006, BET pulled the plug on one of its most popular and controversial shows BET: UNCUT.
As the statement at the beginning of the show warned: UNCUT was created specifically for mature audiences. This show which aired Thursday - Saturday, 3:00 – 4:00 a.m. (ET/PT) offered uncensored, explicit versions of videos from artist like Nelly, 50 Cents and Snoop Dogg that could never be aired during normal BET viewing hours.
Although UNCUT has become the anchor of BET’s late night programming, pressures to make the network more family oriented has forced the company to go in a different direction.
Uncut fans will not need to mourn for long though. To fill the void created by the cancellation of the show, V-News Group has announced the launch of an online version of the uncensored classic: www.BETuncut.net.
BETuncut.net will be a free site which features hundreds of uncut videos, many of which have never been seen on network television, as well as interviews with featured artist and video models.
