The Baltimore I Knew: A Living History Roundtable REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT HAS BEEN FILLED. However, unclaimed tickets will be released to the public at 6:45 PM. Please call 410-685-0095 for more information.
October 5, 7:00 PM at the Baltimore Museum of Art's Meyerhoff Auditorium. This event is FREE and open to the public
Four famous Baltimoreans will return from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries to join WYPR talk show host Marc Steiner in a lively discussion about the joys and challenges of living in Charm City. Sponsored by the Maryland Humanities Council, this interactive event will bring together H. L. Mencken, Edgar Allan Poe, Thurgood Marshall, and Zelda Fitzgerald to provide their perspectives on issues of the past that Baltimoreans still struggle with today.
Join us for a unique opportunity to converse with distinguished time-traveling guests about the state of education, crime, culture, race relations, and politics. Find out what's changed - and what's remained the same - since the times that these historical figures strolled the streets of Baltimore.
The program is free and open to the public. Doors will open to the general public at 6:45 PM. Pre-registrants will be admitted beginning at 5:45 PM.
This event is part of Free Fall Baltimore and is made possible through a grant from Mayor Martin O'Malley and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts. The Council is pleased to join the Baltimore Museum of Art and media partner WYPR 88.1 FM in presenting this event.
