Baltimore club evangelist Aaron LaCrate dropping his patented gutter tracks.

*REPUBLICANS - A VOTE 4 STEELE IS A VOTE FOR BLACK PEOPLE?
I love it that the very party that often de-emphasizes the need for affirmative action is playing that card in this election. DC waterfront headed in an unknown direction
Christian, a former auditor for the Department of Defense, has had Zanzibar on the Southwest waterfront since 1998. The 26,000-square-foot club brings in at least 1,500 people a week for its hip-hop, Caribbean, African and salsa music. The club and restaurant, which has annual revenue of $5 million to $6 million, will probably have to close to make way for construction but hopes to come back to a spot on the waterfront. DANG! I NEED TO OPEN A FREAKIN CLUB!!!
* Since his death a decade ago, seven new albums have been released from Rap icon Tupac Shakur. "As for his world tour, which Jay-Z is hoping will raise awareness of water troubles around the globe, he will visit Bangkok next. He gave MTV News a message for African-Americans. "The first thing I would say is you have to go home [to Africa], you have to go and understand what's going on and embrace your people," he said. "The second thing I would tell people is: You're not from the 'hood. Just stop saying that altogether. You have a wonderful life. You turn on the water, the water is there. You got AC, and you have AC in your car. You're good. You're not from the 'hood. It's mind-blowing. It just puts things in perspective when people say, 'I had it rough coming up.' "

Fourth season of 'The Wire' spoiled by hot black market Bootlegs, illegal downloads diminish suspense, revenue
FOLK MESSIN WIT HBO'S SCRILLA! |
The Wire link goes to something about Andre 3000, wtf? Anyway, HBO and The Wire made the choice months ago to send out DVDs of the entire 4th season to members of the press, if they didn't realize at the time that it would lead to rampant bootlegging and downloading, then they were just stupid. It was their choice, though, they shouldn't bitch about it now. I am trying to avoid spoilers and wait til each episode airs, though.
