ARS Mixtape Release Party (Latin Palace 8.20.06)
August 20 - This was a very BUSY day from start to finish!

    @ WERQ
    Rap Attack
I accompanied DNA and Don Brody to the radio station. I've never been in the 92 Q studios so I jumped when DNA was like come and go with me. The station recently moved out to the Woodlawn area...not to far from Woodlawn HS and Security Mall. We were greeted by a white sock clad Porkchop looking as comfortable as a CEO ready to collect his pension the following week. Rod (Madd Flavor) was behind the glass doing his thing (early), but eventually joined us all in the studio for DNA and Don Brody's actual interview. I very much enjoyed the whole process. Pork Chop and Rod are very professional and after listening to them converse so naturally with DNA....obviously very intune with what is going on in the music biz.
    *
DNA did like this live mixtape type of set up for all the songs he bought up there to be played....that was cool! I have no idea what it sounded like (I didn't have a head set), but the feedback has been really good! - HEY YALL NEED TO GET HIM ON THERE AGAIN REAL SOON!! The lines went crazy when DNA had them to play a few of NOE's new tracks. Everyone was calling up saying that he sounded so much like J or that they thought J had new songs.....LOL! I figured folk would do that, but the caller that bought the biggest smile to my face was the one that say,"Yeah he sound like Jay like a M*tha F*cka, but he is from BMORE so we ridin with him" - JEAH! Thats what I like to hear.
    *
BIG UPS to my boy SL DANGA! I heard you boo, but couldn't get to the mic fast enough to scream at you! CALL ME!!!
    *
Don Brody talked about his new CD and DVD ("HARD MONEY") ...which he will be OFFICIALLY releasing at WEDNESDAYS'S ITSBALTIMOREBABY! LIVE show. This will be his first time performing in Bmore and he is bringing along a few special guests to help make the show EXTRA memorable.
    *
I took a few pictures, but I'll have to post them later. I am so behind as it is.........Ill be back wit them!

    Later that same night:

    @ Latin Palace
    Street Radio Mixtape Release Party

Niige, Chico, Mike Mc Intosh and the entire Architects Recording Studios staff deserve a huge round of applause for the wonderful turnout and jubilant energy they created with their first official release part for their Street Radio mixtape series.
    *
Big Ups to everyone that was up in there (and outside) representing: Jahli and Reflect Son (GOLDEN SEAL), Jeneba Suma, Bunny, Tim & Fire Arms (TOH Records), Cart- Air, Jamal (Untouchable Magazine), Desert Red, Profound
EJ (HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOO), Mykeey (Pronounced like MY - KEY), Nicki (HGE) & Unreal (Unreality Ent), J Hunnie,
Kelly Connelly, Sonny Grams, Trey Born Star, Horseman Ent (I saw BJ in there cutting a RUG!), Ike from MYSPACE/HEAD NOD, Sonny Brown, Deep Flow, DJ Reddz, Ray Victory, Boogie, Bossman/Gator Management, Mal dot com, Fat Smoke, John Boh, Mo Banks, Debonair Samir, S&M Management, Karen, Kariz......
    *
DJ 5 Starr & Lil Mic were on the 1s&2s...killing it at night long! I LOVE DJ LIL MIC!!!
Special Shout out to DJ Radio - he was supposed to be the co-host for the evening. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmh??? LOL! After the fact.... he told me he had the mic in his hand the whole time. I still don't know what to make of that.
    *
Big Ups to all the performers: Che Ray, Ogun, D.O.G., Huli Shallone, CR, Shellbe Raw & Skarr Akbar. I got a few shots of eveyone except Shellbe Raw. DNA arrived with my batteries late.....SMACK HIM. The main person I was so pumped to get a picture of was Huli. I didn't even know what that guy looked like...LOL! Was that him or a body double (that would be gangsta!)....he looked nothing like his CD cover...LOL!
All in all...the show was really good! I enjoyed myself and my people had a good time too. Ebony - I think ....you may have found the least likely hip hop junkie in Ebony! Check out the pics...she is the one person that has her hands up in the crowd...LOL! way to support your hometown hereos mama!

I am really upset that I did not get a gift bag tho. After my hosting duties ended, I ran outside with the intention of getting a few moments of fresh air before delving back in the smokey abyss that awaited my once back inside, but ended up being bombarded with questions and general well wishes! It was nice to meet some many good people. EH, Mike Mc....I need one of them!

Sorry this is not as detailed as I usually give em, but hey.....after all this time I've beentalking about Baltimore Hip Hop....if you don't realize that you need to just get off your ass and come.....YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. I need to save some info or this here rap thing will loose some of its magic.

    @ 5 Seasons
    A BALTIMORE LOVE THING
    *
Thanks to the whole staff of the 5 Seasons for making a sistah feel so welcome. I hadn't been back in a few months, but after the smoke settled...I remembered why I love the 5 Seasons.
    *
There were quite a few familiar faces in the place, but unfortunately....I can't remember them all. If I forgot you...it is not due to a lack of genuine admiration and/or respect...its simply a matter of memory!
    *
We had a really nice turn out (especially considering we only promoted for about 17 days). The vibe was very positive (people bought out their moms and sisters) and I think everyone left the spot with at least one phone number- NETWORKING is such a beautiful thing.
    *
I will probably hold another one of these in the next couple of months, but it will prolly take me a month or so (with all of mynumerous other responsibilites) to complete the prize package that I promised the most dynamic performer.
    *
I will announce who the panel selected after we notify the respective team
    *

    Big Ups to:
Al the Great (Aleven Productions) - It was very nice meeting you! BMore has some really cute producers!
Rell Ruger - You were REALLY late....boo hoo!, but it was still VERY good to see you! Thank you tremendously for the support!
Low Key God - Thanks for coming through! It was really good to see you!
Head Nod - Wassup Fam! Great to see yall! Ike from MYSPACE, Phathead, Big Tony, Ty....thanks for always holding me down! WORD!!! Mr Nance - Thank you so very much for holding me down. You played a very big role in making the evening a huge success on so many levels. Several artists and/or their teams commented on your professionalism throughout the entire process. I am so grateful to have someone who sees the bigger vision on the team. Your contributions do not go unnoticed. I hope that you plan to stick around for a while.
DNA & Roundtable Entertainment (KD, Tony, Boone and dem) - DNA was kill'n em all night long! The show ended around 12:30 AM, but we (a good 20 if us) danced until security turned the lights on! Thank you so much for your support on this and all of my other projects and endeavors. I am not sure that people really understand the role you play in Baltimore "gettin on", but I sure do and I plan to keep you close and happy. Big Ups to all the other guys that help keep DNA and now ME on track! You all are some of the hardest workin people I know....Keep it up...let's get this money!!!
Ebony - Thank you so much for holding everything down (AS YOU ALWAYS DO!!)! It would not have been right for me to be back at the 5 Seasons without you!
Bunny, Kelly and Fire Arms - Thanks for coming through!!! So ghood to see you ...as always!
    Ogun- Thanks for coming out!
Samuels Soul Food - DANGIT!!! I DID NOT GET MY FISH!!!
    *

    Special thanks to:
Da Woodz (featuring Woody of Dru Hill fame)
    John Boh (Invisible Set)
I appreciate you both coming out and showcasing your new songs.
    *
LB of Street Legal Entertainment - Can you believe that the 5 Seasons no longer has fully functioning microphones. I spent the time between 8:30PM and 9:30PM....not greeting my guests and other people that came through to holla at me, but rather calling all around the city and beyond (Lil Mic answered but was in DC...snank u anyway boo!) to find a stinking mic. LB came through as he always does (LB graciously assisted with the compiling and selection of songs for the RESPECT mix tape). FYI: If you plan on booking the 5 Seasons for your next event be prepared to bring you own microphones. This would have been cool, but when you find out the day......NOOOOOOOOO "hour of"....it can be a real monkey wrench in your well thought out plans.

    8.16.06 @ 5 Seasons
I was mighty impressed with the level of talent that was displayed. I'm not going to sit here and say all of the performances were good - some down right sucked (we had a lip sync-er yall...LOL!) but the ones that were good were really good!

Hood Hot - FULL OF ENERGY!!! Home boy had just come home (from prison I assume) and bought the spirit of all his comrades left behind with him. He was first to take the stage and really set the tone for the whole evening. His dad was up there rockin out with him! Dad was pumped as hell! LOL!
J Caso - Hope our conversation after you came off the stage was helpful. I see that you are opening for Hip Hop 101 this week! Good Luck with that!
Only - wow!- I am so glad that you decided to participate in the showcase. I was already a fan of your material (he'd sent me links to his MYSPACE page prior to the show), but seeing you perform them live really helped me to see the complete picture. I will be checking out your new mixtape in detail...the cover is HOT!
Killah Kab (featuring my peoples, Webb)
TMZ - I am going to get it straight one of these days! There was like 3 different crews from the TMZ camp.
R-Sin - I'm still buggin about the fact that you rap!...LOL! you are my peoples! You and your dancers were too much! Way to make use of your time.
    Tru Mob
Raw DOC - LOVED THE SHIRTS!!! Loved yall energy! I definitely look forward to working with you all in the future. Thank you for coming out and and being one of our better performers. (check out http://www.myspace.com/sportmills - Thabnks for the love on MYSPACE!)
The Den - late, but very welcome addition. Thanks for the MYSPACE add!!! I hope yall keep in touch! and hey....post some of yall performance footage and send me a link.
T.O. (Launchpad) - Very energetic! I had a few (small) issues with your set, but we talked about that in private. I look forward to seeing your growth.
Raf (Dirt Platoon) - You always get live! I can't wait for the finished Mr. Marcus project! I know you are going to turn a few heads on to that real hip hop once again!
    *
Please note: This is pretty much all the pictures that I have of the evening. My picture lady took far too many picturtes of the same people and didn't have enough juice to get the rest of the show.
    *
---------------------------------------------------------> I will be updting this post. If I didn't mention you by name....be easy! I got you! I just wanted to get this out there.

Boot Camp Click (8.15.06 @ SONAR)
I do apologize for the delay. My DSL has been actin a fool all weekend and I was hit with a lil summer cold the last few days....so needless to say...I am a lil behind with the news.

    Sidebar:
Verizon DSL has THE WORSE Customer Service of ALL telecommunication businesses (EVEN WORSE THAN T- MOBILE). It's not the operators.....NO NO they are robots...they read scripts....its the outlandish wait. I have a similar complaint with T-mobile. Nah Nah....T Mobile THE WORSE! They make sure you get tangled up in just enough bs that you think 3 times before you call them again. What person has 1 hour (during the middle of the day) to sit on the phone and work out cell phone billing discrepancies? The PROBLEM.....they know they already GOT us....can you imagine life without phones - again? I can't.....I can't even imagine life without the computer any more.....I don't even watch TV anymore since I was introduced to my lil friend.....

Man o MAN! This past 2 weeks have been a non-stop ride. There were so many events going on and I was all up in the middle of ALL them. I get AROUND fo sho!

WE GONE DO THIS ONE AT A TIME....BE PATIENT YALL!

    August 15
    @ Sonar

    Boot Camp Click
This is my second time seeing the BBC live. I arrived really late and unfortunately missed all of the loval openers. A talented young vocalist named MIKO was finishing up her set as I arrived at the venue. Shakeen (Bulldog Kartel) doing his thang. This was his first time performing since the "re-organization" of the MC-ing collective and I heard he really held his own. I was so happy to hear that. Sha is such a talented artist. I pray that he now gets the attention he deserves. In related news......Its confirmed.....the cries were heard - BAR KARDY (please forgive if I spelled his name incorrectly) is FINALLY home! I saw some girl dragging him out of the club fussing about something or another and I didn't get a chance to say hi.....BUT what up my ninja!!! Break fast Records also performed.....DANG! I missed them again! Sonny Brown was hosting or should I say "keeping the natives at bay" until the head liners took the stage. He had one hell of a job......reminded me of Pork Chop tryna get a word in when he was hosting the Wu Tang show!!! I don't think he could have done a better job under the circumstances. Big Ups to "Dan the Man" (producer/engineer/FINISHER - his credits include "Put Your Lighters Up" by Lil Kim)!!! It was really nice meeting you! I hope you keep in touch!! Big Ups to the Sonar staff and bartenders...yall held it down. Special shout out to the cutie bartender that told me he reads my blog! (I don't remember your name - my bad!)

I really don't know where I was during their hey day.....but I could not recall any of their songs. Nah....Nah.....I'm lying....I remember the melodies of a few. "Original Gun Clapper", "Buck Em Down", The Mary J. Remix ("?" - That was my joint!) "I Gotcha Open", "How Many Emcee's", "Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka" (didn't know that was the title of the song...LOL!)...but that's about it.....I feel so bad admitting that! I've always been into rap music, but I guess I wasn't into committing anything to memory besides Biggie during the 90's. What I will say is.....there show was really live. It was really thick up in the joint .....so maybe I was the only one sleeping. The sheer energy of their fans and the wild abandon these men showed on stage would, if nothing else, keep you captivated.

There set was like 1.5 hours.....OMFG! & You know I didn't watch all that....LOL! I did catch a few minutes of Buckshots show (I used to think he was so cute back in the day).

I saw the early part of the show from backstage (& caught a lil of Buck Shot)...snapped up these pics! Hope you enjoy!

    THE SHOW WAS HOT!

    OH SNAP!!! GUESS WHO'S BIZZACK!

    HERE YE HERE YE!!!

Had a few DSL connectivity problems during the lasy couple of days, but please believe.....I've been taking notes and will be back later today with the full run down (& PICTURES) of all of my ativities during the last 2 weeks.......ITS BEEN SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!

    IN the meantime.................

I wish I could make the comedy exclusive picture bigger, but you can still see it ....what comes to mind when you see these 2 pics side by side? All they needed was some pink lips and it would have been too much like right! LOL! When did jiggaboo dolls turn non-offensive?

The GHOOD PEOPLE of Brownstyle.net and Verzes Mag are getting the weekly college party ball rolling TONIGHT TONIGHT TONIGHT!!!!!! with their weekly PAR-TAY at Club One.
